From the Kyoto Imperial Palace and garden Sumiya Motenashi Cultural Art Museum Establishment in Shimabara, Kyoto, built in 1641, used for parties, tea ceremonies and meetings of haiku poets. Toji temple Streets of Kyoto. Mt Ibiku. Beautiful mountain 1h30 from Kyoto but again couldn’t hike because of typhoon and fallen trees.

June 2022. Not many pictures from Nagasaki as I’ve been there only a few hours and wanted to use this time to visit the A bomb Museum. I hope to come back again some day and explore more of the city and its surroundings.
June 2022. Beppu is a small city (around 120 000) in Ōita Prefecture, Kyushu. Surrounded by unique mountains and nature.
June 2022. Fukuoka is the sixth-largest city in Japan and the second-largest port city. I went there for work but also had time to visit a few places. It is well known in Japan for the kindness of people living there and delicious food.

May 2022. Kagoshima is placed in the southwestern tip of Kyushu. Below are mostly pictures from the house of the Shimadzu family and their garden (Sengan-en). The Shimadzu family were one of Japan’s most powerful samurai clans and ruled over southern Kyushu for over 700 years. Also a few pictures of Tsurumaru castle and Sakurajima (volcano).
May 2022. Miyajima (also called Itsukushima) is a small (30km2) island located in the Seto inland sea, close to Hiroshima. May 2022. Hiroshima is a really nice and lively city, both during the day and at night, with great food and people. It’s also very close to the Miyajima island and I will upload some pictures from my visit there in my next post.
April 2022. In the Ghibli museum, there’s a movie theatre and you can attend a special screening of a short but great movie with your entrance ticket. I somehow resisted from buying lots of things in the souvenir shop

April 2022. I went to Ueno Park to see Sakura trees and to the Tokyo National Museum (interesting historical objects there from various periods of Japan’s history). There is also a Japanese garden behind the Museum with traditional tea houses.
